Postcards sabbatical

Saturday afternoon and we bore proud witness to a union of our friends Rohan and Sarah from heated pews (so oddly un-Catholic) as grey light seeped in through Newman Chapel's vaunted wall of glass, and then from the puddled pavement looked on as they beamed at the top of the steps, R dapper, S dazzling.

It was nice. It was real nice.

Saturday night and as the Cities pulled out all stops at the melbs.org launch, I rocked and rioted, passing around torn strips from my old Melways®, loudly proclaiming Giacomo Casanova a hero of the Italian people (for if not he then whom?), blowing bubbles and gibbering, 'til an ill-fated kebab at last claimed me, and I awoke Sunday morning depressed as a bastard.

It was good. It was damn good.
