The devil and the deep blue sea
I threatened a long time ago that if my dreadfully, woefully topical thesis obtained a good mark I would put it up here. It got a 92—to my mind either generous or mistaken or conceivably both, but you be the judge.
Incidentally, the title of this post is the title I wanted to give the thesis, but at some point I decided it would raise too many hackles. One must be coy with one's opinions occasionally, I guess.

Congratulations, Joe!!!!
What a great achievement you’ve made!!! I’m glad that the whole thesis is put up here - I’ve read the introduction so far, and am particularly taken by the last paragraph of the intro. So much is in it, yet your thoughts and the way you deliver them shows how clear things are in your head. I like that.
I was confused with my thesis, and you can see it. Believe it or not, I got a 84 for it.

Joe, I think my Mac (with Internet Explorer) doesn’t like your flag link, cos it’s not coming up, hence my confusion about where to find the thesis. Have just tried at work and finally see what you mean…am glad that I’m not a complete idiot :-) See you at the triv night.
